XXL dropped the good news and I’m just reminding everybody Ms. Hill is getting back into tour swing in July. Even though the tour will take place across the pond (shout out to Eurp-Hip Hoppers) just hearing Lauryn Hill will be back on tour should be good news to any of us who are patiently waiting for a new LP from the legendary Femcee…

Reclusive Grammy award winning rapper/singer Lauryn Hill is set to go on a 10-date European tour this July.

The Associated Press reports that as part of her trip the former Fugee will headline the Stockholm Jazz Festival in Sweden. The five-day event –among the country’s largest concerts- is expected to bring in close to 30,000 spectators.

Hill was also listed as one of the 1,000 acts to be included in this year’s Montreux Jazz Fest in Switzerland. Scheduled for July 11 at the Stravinsky Auditorium, Hill will join a lineup that includes the Black Eyed Peas, Herbie Hancock and B.B. King, among others, according to Reuters.

Bob Kravitz……smoking the kush?

A quick one for the fellow Colts fans, I know I wasn’t the only one excited to hear that the Horseshoes have signed DT Ed Johnson, who was released from the team at the begining of last season, for possesion of Marijuana in CARMEL after a traffic stop. Defensive tackle then became one of our weakpoints and Darren Sproles ran all over us and ended our season in the playoffs. Anyway, I’m all about redemption and giving a guy another chance, and I think this is a good move by the Colts front office. Mr Bob Kravitz however, resident columnist of the Indianapolis star, thinks different

In a statement released by the team, Caldwell said they were giving Johnson another opportunity after reviewing the rules violation on a case-by-case basis, just as they did with his initial suspension.

“Ed understands our team rules and our mandate that players represent themselves as professionals at all times,” Caldwell said.

“We feel the lessons Ed has learned will allow him to be what we demand from our players.”

Please.

Can we just cut through the bull and call it what it is? The Colts are desperate for defensive tackles, Johnson is available and inexpensive, and the Colts are bending their standards to fit their football needs.

In the same release, Johnson said, “I would like to thank the Colts, especially Jim Irsay, for this second privilege to join the team. I apologize to everyone for the situation I created last year. I have learned valuable lessons from my mistake, and I want to regain the trust of the organization, my teammates and our fans.”

Yeah, that sounds good, but we heard all that two years ago when Johnson first arrived. He should just say: “Hey, I’m lucky that I’m very big and very strong, and I’m really lucky that Tony Dungy is no longer the coach of the Indianapolis Colts.”

The Dungy Era is over.

The standards of conduct he demanded are gone.

For better or for worse.

Talk about jumping the gun, if there was ever a time the colts were desperate for Defensive tackles, it was last year at the point where we cut Ed. That showed a lot about the Colts ability to stick to their word, and after another draft that looks like will provide the Colts with several solid contributers on the D-Line, we weren’t in dire need to sign another d-tackle.

I think if anything this shows the Irsay, Polian, and Caldwell see a change or something in Johnson that leads them to believe he is on the right path, and I trust their judgement over some Columnist trying to stir the pot and get a reaction
